Hello friends am really excited today as I am going to share my Oreo Cheese Cake recipe with you all. I love Cheese cakes and wanted to try them at home. But some how couldn’t make it as I didn’t have spring form tin at home and cream cheese is a bit fancy thing for people over here.
After lot of googling I found that cream cheese can be made at home(though modified it little bit) and decided to make cheese cake. I added Oreo flavor as its my kids favorite cookie. You can add your favorite flavor.
This is going to be a lenghty post because am going to share both the cream cheese and cheese cake recipe. Am really sorry I didn’t click pics for cream cheese as it was my first try with it but will make separate post very soon. Here is the recipe of Oreo Cheese Cake.
For cream cheese you will need
- Milk 1 litre
- Curd 1.5 tbsp
- Juice of 1/2 lemon mixed in half cup water.
Method:- Bring the milk to boil while continuously stiring it. Once the milk is boiled let it cool for 2 mins and than add in lemon juice solution little by little. Heat it again you will see the whey will start separating. Now switch of the gas. Filter the cottage cheese mixture in muslin cloth and wash it till the lemonish smell goes off. Squeeze out the extra water and add the cottage cheese to blender and to it add in 1.5 tbsp curd. Blend this to a smooth paste. Transfer this again to a cheese cloth and keep any heavy utensil over it so that the excess water is drained out. This will take around 3-4 hours. After 3-4 hours remove the cream cheese into a air tight container and let it rest overnight.
For Oreo Cheese Cake
- Digestive biscuits (I used Marie+2 Oreo cookies)
- Oreo cookies for garnish
- Heavy whipping cream 1/2 cup(I used Amuls heavy whipping cream)
- Cream cheese 250 gram
- Unsalted butter 3tbsp
- Powdered sugar 4 tbsp
- China grass 1 tbsp
- Water 1/4 cup
- Condensed milk 1/2 cup
Blend the biscuits coarsely in blender till it reaches sand like texture. Now add in melted butter little by little .Now it will look like wet sand. Now as i didn’t have a spring form tin I took my normal seven inch cake tin and lined it with cling wrap. Be gentle with the cling wrap and carefully place the cling wrap such that all the sides of tin is covered properly.Leave extra cling wrap so that while demolding we can lift the cling wrap and demold.
Now add in the biscuit mixture and press it gently. Cover the bottom of the tin with it. Keep the mixture in fridge till our cake mix is ready. In a bowl add in cream cheese and powdered sugar and blend it till soft and fluffy. In a separate bowl whip cream till it reaches stiff peaks. Now combine cream cheese and cream mixture gently.
Soak 1tbsp china grass in 1/4 cup water. Once soaked heat it till the the china grass is dissolved properly. Add this to cream cheese- whipped cream mixture and gently fold in. Now add in milk maid to this mix.
Transfer this mixture inside the prepared cake tin. Add crushed oreo cookies in top and refrigerate for 7-8 hours or overnight (I refrigerated it overnight ).While serving carefully lift the side of cling wrap and transfer it to a serving plate. Remove be the cling wrap gently from bottom too. Slice it in desired shapes and serve Chilled.
